The Japanese automaker, Honda, introduced the WR-V. The urban cross hatch is based on the Honda Jazz. The same engines that are found on the premium hatchback power it.
Honda has redesigned the WR-V to differentiate it from the Jazz. It gets a new front, which includes a solid chrome slat on the grille, new bumper, wider and muscular front grille and new headlamps with standard LED DRLs. The car also comes with larger 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a new tailgate and black plastic cladding on the wheel arches and lower body panels. The WR-V is available with 6 colour options - Modern Steel, Alabaster Silver, Carnelian Red, Golden Brown, White Orchid and Premium Amber.
On the inside, the WR-V gets the same layout as the Jazz. But, the crosshatch gets a new 7.0-inch touch screen infotainment system; called the Digipad, this infotainment system features satellite-linked navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth telephony, a 1.5 GB internal memory, 2 USB slots, 2 Micro-SD slots and an HDMI port. The system also comes with MirrorLink connectivity.
The interior upholstery is available in two colour options - black & grey and black & silver. The car has first in the segment electric sunroof with one-touch open/close function and touch-based climate control system, which are available only on the top-end VX variant. The WR-V gets dual airbags and ABS as standard features across the range. The diesel VX also comes with cruise control and push button start/stop.
The car is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which develops 100PS @ 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The other engine that is on offer is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 90PS @ 6,000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque @ 4,800 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Honda WR-V was launched at Rs7.75 lakh for the petrol version and Rs8.79 lakh for the diesel. It is available in two variants only - S and VX.
